§ 1

About us

fLemma (flemma.net) is a platform of daily word games, available in Italian and English.

For any enquiry, please refer to the Contact section.

§ 2

Terms of use

Access and use

Access to fLemma is free and requires no registration. By using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The games are intended for a general audience. No minimum age is required, but the content is designed for users who can read and understand text in English or Italian.

Intellectual property

The original content of fLemma (including texts, puzzles, graphics, logo and source code) is the property of Stefano Pirone, owner of the site and the fLemma brand. Unauthorised reproduction or distribution is prohibited.

The name fLemma and its logo are trademarks of Stefano Pirone. Unauthorised use of the name or logo is prohibited.

Some games are inspired by existing formats. Game mechanics as such are not protected by copyright, but fLemma's specific implementation, content and design are wholly original — written from scratch without reference to any third-party code.

It is expressly prohibited to embed flemma.net or any part of it within native applications (including Android or iOS apps), WebViews, iframes or wrappers of any kind, without prior written authorisation from the owner. Unauthorised applications that replicate or redistribute fLemma content may be reported to distribution platforms (including Google Play Store and Apple App Store) under applicable copyright law.

Limitation of liability

fLemma is provided "as is", without guarantees of service continuity. The operator is not responsible for any disruptions, interruptions or loss of game data saved locally in the user's browser.

Game progress is saved in the localStorage of the user's browser, on their device. Clearing browser history or using private/incognito browsing will result in the loss of game data.

Changes to the service

The operator reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the site or individual games at any time, without prior notice.

These Terms may be updated periodically. The date of the last revision is shown at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

§ 3

Privacy policy

In brief fLemma does not collect or store personally identifiable data. Game data stays on your device. Some anonymous information is collected by third parties (Google) for analytics and advertising purposes.
Data collected directly by fLemma

fLemma does not require registration and does not collect names, email addresses or other personal data. Game progress (games played, stars, game state) is saved exclusively in the user's browser localStorage, on their device, and is never transmitted to external servers. Data controller: Associazione Pidgin Edizioni, based in Naples, Italy. Contact: flemma[.]net[@]gmail[.]com

Data collected by third parties

fLemma uses the following third-party services, which may independently collect data:

  • Google AdSense — for personalised advertising. Google may collect data via cookies to show ads relevant to the user's interests. See Google's privacy policy.
  • Google Analytics — for anonymous usage statistics (pages visited, session duration, country of origin). Data is aggregated and non-identifying.
  • Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from Google's servers; Google may log the visitor's IP address. See Google's privacy policy.
Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

For visitors residing in the European Union, the processing of data by third parties (Google) takes place on the basis of the user's consent, expressed via the cookie banner on first visit. Users may withdraw or modify their consent at any time through the cookie settings.

User rights

Under the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679), users residing in the EU have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing and port their data. Since fLemma does not collect personally identifiable data, these rights are exercised primarily against Google, through their respective platforms.

For any privacy-related request, please write to the contact address below.

International data transfers

Google is based in the United States. Data transfers take place in compliance with the safeguards required by the GDPR (Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).

§ 4

Cookies & advertising

What are cookies

Cookies are small text files that websites save in the user's browser. They are used to remember preferences, analyse traffic and show relevant advertising.

Cookies used by fLemma
Managing consent

On your first visit, a banner allows you to accept or decline non-technical cookies. Technical cookies (localStorage for game progress) are always active as they are necessary for the service to function.

You may change your preferences at any time through your browser settings or the cookie management options in the banner. You can also use Google Ads Settings to manage personalised advertising.

Advertising on fLemma

fLemma uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Ads may be personalised based on the user's browsing history on other sites. If the user has not consented to personalised advertising, contextual ads (based on page content) will be shown instead.

fLemma has no direct control over the ads shown by Google and is not responsible for their content.
